Gosford City Council Childrens Services

Gosford City Council is committed to providing high quality Children's Services which reflect and respect the diversity shared by the community. Our services cater for children aged between 6 weeks and 12 years and provide friendly, secure and supportive settings for children and their families.

All our Centres are community based and non-profit making; Council owned means community owned. All funds are directed exclusively into providing the best possible learning environment for young children. Each service has a significant focus on community involvement, with parent suggestions, input and participation valued.

All long day care centre's and vacation care services are accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council, assuring families that quality practices and standards are regularly reviewed and maintained to meet the ongoing and ever-changing needs of the local community.

Wherever you live in the Gosford area, Gosford City Council can offer a high quality Children's Service to meet your needs.
Services include:

Services are offered from Niagara Park to Umina and Terrigal, offering peace of mind to parents that your child's care and education has never been easier. Children at all our services are provided with a high quality program where their individual potential is encouraged and supported, where they feel safe to grow, discover and explore while forming positive relationships with others.

All of our services promote an atmosphere where children have the freedom and security to gain new skills, meet challenges and develop friendships with children and staff.

Our Children's Services are available to families who are working, non-working, studying or seeking work. If you require longer hours of care contact one of our seven long day care centres. If you require short term care with flexible hours contact our occasional care centre.

If you require care during the school holidays for your primary aged child contact the Vacation Care Coordinator who can provide details on current holiday care programs for one of our three vacation care services.

Like to go on our waiting list?

Child Care places at highly regarded services are often difficult to obtain, particularly for babies and children under three years of age. It is most important that families, planning to return to work following the birth of their baby, place their names on a waiting list as soon as possible.

DO NOT wait until your baby is born or until your parental leave is almost over. Ideally to have a better chance of securing a place at your Centre of choice, when you need it, you should fill out a waiting list application as soon as your pregnancy is confirmed.

Download a long day care waiting list application NOW. You can mail it, fax it or hand it in at any of the Centres, in person and have a look around at the same time.

Our Staff

Our centres employ staff with a range of qualifications and varying amounts of experience within the early childhood field. These include Early Childhood trained teachers, Early Childhood associates (TAFE trained), and Early Childhood assistants (some with Certificate III Children's Services).

Gosford City Council is committed to providing opportunities for staff to continually update and extend their knowledge and skills, furthering their professional development and enhancing their understanding of current early childhood theory and practice.
