Our CommitmentGosford City Council is committed to providing high quality Children's Services which reflect and respect the diversity shared by the community. Our services cater for children aged between 6 weeks and 6 years and provide friendly, secure and supportive settings for children and their families. Our programs are play based, recognise the importance of literacy and numeracy along with social and emotional development and are guided by The Early Years Learning Framework. All our Centres are community based and non-profit making; Council owned means community owned. All funds are directed exclusively into providing the best possible learning environment for young children. Each service has a significant focus on community involvement, with parent suggestions, input and participation valued. The centres participate in The National Quality Framework, assuring families that quality practices and standards are regularly reviewed and maintained to meet the ongoing and ever-changing needs of the local community. |

Services include: Long Day Care & Occasional Day Care Services are offered throughout the Gosford LGA, offering peace of mind to parents that your child's care and education has never been easier. Children at all our services are provided with a high quality program where their individual potential is encouraged and supported, where they feel safe to grow, discover and explore while forming positive relationships with others. All of our services promote an atmosphere where children have the freedom and security to gain new skills, meet challenges and develop friendships with children and staff. Our Children's Services are available to families who are working, non-working, studying or seeking work. If you require longer hours of care contact one of our six long day care centres. Like to go on our waiting list?To ensure you optimise your chance of securing a place for your child at any one of the six highly regarded Council Child Care Centres, you are encouraged to place your child's name on a waiting list as soon as possible. Do not wait until your baby is born or until your parental leave is almost over. You should download and fill out a child care waiting list application as soon as your pregnancy is confirmed. You can mail it, fax it or hand it in at any of the Centres, in person and have a look around at the same time. Our EducatorsOur centres employ Educators with a range of qualifications and varying amounts of experience within the early childhood field. These include Early Childhood Teachers, Early Childhood Associates (TAFE trained), and Early Childhood Assistants (some with Certificate III Children's Services). Gosford City Council is committed to providing opportunities for staff to continually update and extend their knowledge and skills, furthering their professional development and enhancing their understanding of current early childhood theory and practice.
