Occasional Care Placements

Gosford City Council offers occasional care within the long day care centres where a current vacancy exists.  Occasional care allows the flexibility to leave children for short periods of time, ie to allow a parent to attend an appointment, attend an interview, etc.

Occasional care is available to both new families and existing long day care families.

Occasional care is only available within the hours of 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.  Arrivals for occasional care will not be accepted prior to 8.00am.

Bookings: 

• Are to be made directly to the Centre to ascertain if there are vacancies available.
• Are made on an hourly and half hourly basis between 8.00am and 4.00pm. 
• May be made for a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 8 hours.
• May be made up to 4 weeks in advance. 
• Will be charged from the original booked in time (regardless of arrival after the original booked in time).  
• Will be charged up till your booked departure time (early departure will be charged to the closest half hour of your actual departure time). 

Cancellations:

You may cancel your booking up to 4.00pm the day before the due period of care.  Cancellations made on the day of care incur a cancellation fee of the full booked fee.

Fees and Charges:

• Registration Charge

Families who have not used a Gosford City Council Child Care Centre within the current financial year will be charged an initial registration fee, currently $70 for one child or $80 for two or more children.  This registration fee covers you for care, both occasional and long day care, within any of Council’s centres for the current financial year.

• Hourly Fee

Under 2’s         $12.00 per hour per child

Over 2’s          $11.50 per hour per child
