Road Safety

Road safety is a priority for our region and council is committed to improving road safety through a variety of initiatives and projects.

Council’s Road Safety Officer works with other stakeholders such as the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to design and deliver projects targeted at behavioural issues and includes strategies that educate and build knowledge within the community.

These projects include:

  • Child restraints and seatbelt;
  • Community and Road Education Scheme (CARES);
  • Drink Driving – Late Night Transport;
  • Learner Drivers;
  • Reducing Speed on Local Roads;
  • School Road Safety;
  • Seniors Road Safety Programs;

Infrastructure such as line marking, signposting, medians and chicanes are also investigated and developed by council to address road safety concerns.

For more information about council’s road safety initiatives contact council’s Road Safety Officer on 4325 8179 or email ask@centralcoast.nsw.gov.au.
