Hiring a sun safe marquee
Sun safe marquees have been provided by Gosford City Council in partnership with the NSW Cancer Council to promote sun safety on the Central Coast.
The project allows free use of the marquees by community groups, in conjunction with the use of the Sun Sound at the Peninsula Leisure Centre and Gosford Olympic Pool.
The 'Sun Sound' is an audio reminder for spectators and swimmers to re-apply sunscreen.
The sun safe marquee's dimensions are: open - 6m x 3m, and closed - 160cm x 30cm x 40 cm.
The sun shade marquees are located at the Gosford City Council Administration Building.
How to book
To make a booking, download and complete the Sun Shade Booking Form and User Manual.
Once completed email the form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please make your booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Depending on the size of your event, you may wish to loan more than one marquee. Please specify the number of marquees you require. Multiple bookings are accepted, but no more than four per event are allowed.
Organisations must not be a business or a for-profit organisation and must supply a certificate of public liability insurance.
Council loans these marquees free of charge - however, this is reliant on the marquees being returned in good working order.
Costs associated with any damage to the marquees will be passed on to the hirer and may result in a bond being required for any future use.
Gosford City Council takes no responsibility for the correct set up and function of the marquee, but has provided you, the hirer with a step by step guide for setting up, general use and packing up the marquee.
Please remember, the marquees are quite heavy and are recommended to be carried with a mechanical aid or several people.
Transport of the marquees is the responsibility of the hirer. Any problems associated with transport including damage to the marquees or the vehicle is the hirer's responsibility.
