Gosford City Council provides recreational areas at little or no cost, for young people to interact while providing support, advocacy and referrals. Youth Events, young sector assistance and community interaction are also functions of the service.

Gosford City Council Youth Services Team also recognises and practices the Regional Youth Development Officers Network's (RYDON) Youth Work Code of Ethics and incorporates these values in the day-to-day dealings with young people attending Gosford City Council’s programs and activities. Gosford City Council Youth Service's team also facilitates the Central Coast Youth Interagency, Gosford City Youth Council and is involved in many seperate committees that relate to young people accross the Central Coast Region. Gosford City Council Youth Services Team acknowledges that the key values possessed by Youth Workers must include integrity, respect, empathy and optimism towards young people in all areas of their work focusing on the best interests of the young people and their needs.
