Waste Services undertakes a number of key functions, including;
- Administration of Domestic Waste Management
- Contract Management of Council's Landfill Depots
- Administration of the Effluent/Sludge Contract
- On-site Sewage Management
- Controls for Site Waste Management (DCP 106)
Waste Management Services
Council provide a 120L and 240L general waste, 240L recyclable and 240L garden vegetation bin (domestic properties east of F3) which is collected under contract by THIESS Services.
Customer's are advised that enquiries relating to bins and garbage collections should be directed to 1300 1coast (1300 126 278).

Garbage Collections and Bulk Kerbside Collections
Like to know when your bins will be emptied?
Visit the online waste collection & recycling service to find out which day the bins are emptied in your street, book a bulk kerbside collection, report a missed service or request repairs to your bin.

Landfill Sites
Council operates landfills at Kincumber and Woy Woy for the disposal of solid wastes.

Landfill sites are open everyday except Christmas Day, New Years Day and Good Friday

On-Site Sewage Management Systems
The installation and operation of on-site sewage management systems in the unsewered areas of the City is a major function performed by Waste Services and involves the assessment and approval of new and existing septic tanks, aerobic treatment plants, composting toilets and cesspits.
