The Central Coast

The Central Coast lies between the hinterland and the coastline, starting at the Hawkesbury in the south and Lake Macquarie to the north. The coast is approximately an hour north of Sydney, by train, ferry or car.

Whether coming from Sydney, Newcastle or elsewhere, the Central Coast is only A RIDE AWAY! The Central Coast is easily accessible via the Sydney-Newcastle railway line (major train stations at Gosford, Woy Woy and Wyong), ferry wharves at Ettalong, Woy Woy and Palm Beach and also via the F3 freeway.

Trains to the Central Coast depart daily from Central Station, Sydney and Newcastle approximately every hour. If traveling to the Central Coast by train there are facilities in every second carriage for the storage of bikes. Bicycles are permitted on trains free of charge on the weekend and in off-peak periods. However, if part or all of your journey is made between 6.00am - 9.00am or between 3.30pm to 7.30pm on weekdays you must purchase a child ticket for the bicycle as well as a ticket for yourself.

If traveling to the Central coast via ferry from Palm Beach there could be an additional charge for the transfer of your bike.
