To live ‘green’ is to live your everyday life as sustainably as possible and to consciously minimise your impact on the environment.

Green living includes minimising your electricity consumption and waste production, composting and worm farming, shopping resourcefully, maximising household recycling and being emissions wise.

Tips for Greener living can be found on this website, in council’s brochures and at our free Green Living Workshop events held throughout the year.

Green Living Workshops

Council runs a number of free workshops on a variety of topics that will help you to live “greener”. Topics include compost and worm farming, keeping backyard chickens, energy efficiency, smart pools and green cleaning.
