Environment and Waste

Little Green Steps

Little Green Steps is an early childhood environmental education program coordinated by Gosford and Wyong Councils.

The program started in 2004 with the aim of promoting sustainability practices and education in Central Coast preschools and early childhood centres.

The program aims to:

  • Provide local services with resource kits on the topics of waste, water, wildlife, energy and stormwater;
  • Provide in-service training to early childhood educators through professional development workshops;
  • Produce a newsletter providing centres with up-to-date information on a range of topics relating to sustainability and environmental education; and
  • Provide on-going support to centres in relation to sustainability education activities.
