About Noxious Plants
Although there are many plants which could be classed as weeds, only those plants which have a detrimental effect on the environment, public amenity or cause serious economic loss to agriculture are considered as candidates for decleration as noxious weeds.
Noxious plants are those that have been declared by order of the minister for Agriculture and gazetted in accordance with the Noxious Weeds Act 1993.
