Wildlife Survey Results
The survey was carried out by Gosford City Council, in collaboration with Wyong Shire Council and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. The survey was distributed to 67,500 households in Gosford City and Council received 7,145 responses. Many people returned surveys with additional notes, lists and sometimes photos attached to provide more information and giving more detail on local species. In addition there were many phone calls and letters to Council from people expressing enthusiasm and support for this initiative.
As a result, Gosford City Council has gained a significant insight into the attitudes and concerns of the community regarding native and introduced animals in our area. The results of the survey and recommendations will be provided in a report for Council's consideration. Council's Biodiversity Management Plan will be a key way of addressing the identified issues.
