Do you want to feed your family with organic food but find it too expensive or too hard to find, why not grow your own. This workshop will cover the basics of Organic Gardening, gardening without the use of synthetic chemicals and fertilisers.
The focus of the workshop will be on edible gardens but the principles can apply to all types of gardening. The workshop will cover the main components to organic gardening:
- Building up the soil with compost, natural fertilisers and crop rotation.
- Maintenance of pest control with natural products, companion planting and healthy soils.
- Seasonal planting to ensure that the best possible environment for plant growth.
The hands-on workshop will have a practical component so bring some gloves and a hat if sunny.
