Contemporary realist painter Robert Clinch has transformed an iconic 1960s Australian sports car, the Goggomobil Dart, into an Objet D’art.
Over a period of five months he painstakingly hand painted the car with his signature paper darts. The dart motif has persisted in Clinch’s paintings since 1985 and signifies imagination, transience, purity and fragility.
Accompanying the car, this exhibition also includes detailed sketches, test panels and a documentary film about the project.
