In conjunction with the Russell Drysdale: Bouddi exhibition at Gosford Regional Gallery, join art historian Lou Klepac for a talk reflecting on the life and career of artist Russell Drysdale, particularly his time at Bouddi on the Central Coast.
Lou Klepac was Curator of Paintings at the Art Gallery of Western Australia 1964-66; at the Art Gallery of South Australia 1966-1970 and Senior Curator and Deputy Director at the Art Gallery of Western Australia 1974-80. He has organised many exhibitions including several significant Russell Drysdale exhibitions, notably the 1980 Perth Survey of Drawing for the Art Gallery of Western Australia, and the touring exhibition “Russell Drysdale: the drawings” in 2012. He has authored and published many books including a comprehensive biography of Russell Drysdale. He frequently visited Russell Drysdale at Bouddi on the Central Coast and became a close friend.
