Beach Lifeguard Service

Gosford City Patrolled Beaches on the NSW Central Coast. Gosford City Council's professional lifeguards patrol nine beaches within the area of Gosford. These beaches are Wamberal, Terrigal, North Avoca, Avoca, Copacabana, Mac Masters, Killcare, Ocean Beach and Umina Beach

Please remember:

  • No flags no swimming.
  • Always swim or surf at patrolled beaches.
  • Swim between the red and yellow flags.
  • If we can’t see you we can’t save you!
  • If you get into difficulty raise your arm stay calm and yell for assistance.
  • If you are unsure of conditions ask the lifeguard in attendance.
  • Read and obey the signs and directions from the lifeguard or lifesaver.
  • Never run and dive into water as the depth changes regularly.
  • Children should be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide.

Beach Watch - monitoring coastal recreational water quality.

Each year from October to April Council monitors and reports on water quality of 21 local swimming areas, including ten ocean beaches, six lagoon sites and five tidal baths and rock pools.
