Seniors Fitness

Peninsula Leisure Centre offers a variety of health and fitness programs for the senior members of the community.

Seniors Strength Training 

A supervised weight based class to improve general strength.  This is one of the most beneficial activities for older adults and is great for those with arthritis, diabetes, circulation problems, overweight or perhaps those who have not exercised for a long time. Prior to attending your first session you need a doctors clearance and a personal appointment with one of our expereienced trainers.

Gentle Exercise Classes

Group classes to music aimed to improve your strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, with no running or jumping. Level 2 classes one Monday morning are recommend as the first step into exercise at the Peninsula Leisure Centre.

Tai Chi

New class to the program in conjunction with Central Coast Area Health. It is a slow gentle movement that are excellent for managing arthritis, improving posture and balance, increasing strength and promoting flexibility.

Thursday 11.30am, Intermediate Class, need instructor approval to participate;

New Participants need to attend a one off fast track session on the 1st Thursday of the month at 12.30pm, new particiapants welcome.

Tai Chi

Aqua Fitness

Also group exercise to music conducted in swimming pools.  Water exercise is great for those with circulation problems, arthritis or those recovering from surgery.

Lite and Easy Aqua

Seniors Programs Doctors Clearance, necessary prior to participating in Senior Strength Training or Gentle Exercise to Music.
