Kincumber Library, in conjunction with BCF Gosford, are proud to be hosting moutaineer and author Tim McCartney-Snape.
Tim is probably best known for being the first Australian to summit Mt Everest without oxygen, in 1984. He has also summited peaks such as Annapurna 2, and is Chairman of Leave No Trace Australia, an organisation which works to promote environmental ethics.
Tim is a director of the clothing and manufacturing company Sea to Summit, and once a year he takes small groups on expeditions to remote parts of the Himalaya and Africa.
Tim uses his mountaineering achievements as a spectacular framework to deliver an inspirational example of how to overcome obstacles. The drama of climbing a Himalayan giant lends itself well to communicating the fundamental aspects of achievement and Tim delivers an exciting and powerful presentation on goal-setting, motivation and self-discipline.
