Until author and senior clinical psychologist Heather Irvine had her babies, she thought a normal mothering day would be a baby simply entertaining itself (with the odd breastfeed and nap time), while she enjoyed cappuccinos with other mums.
Wrong. Crazy. Absurd.
In her new book, Hello Baby!, Heather shares her years of experience working with hundreds of mothers to uncover all the myths of perfection new mums see on Facebook and Instagram, and provide practical, humorous and no-nonsense advice about what to expect in baby’s first year.
Heather Irvine is a senior clinical psychologist and clinical director of the R.E.A.D. Clinic.
For the past 17 years, she has worked in various locations across the United Kingdom, as well as Newcastle and the Central Coast.
She has sat on numerous consultation panels, education boards, and is the ambassador for the organisation 'Mum for Mum'.
She is a regular writer for newspapers and magazines, and speaks on both radio and television regarding children, families and mothers.
