Adult Literacy

The following resources are available for adults who are learning to speak, read and write English.  The collection is located at Gosford Branch, but titles can be transferred to other branches on request.

Literacy non-fiction

This collection contains books and other resources to help with grammar, spelling, definitions and exam preparation. It is located in the literacy section at the Gosford branch, and is marked with The Reading Hotspot logo.

Simplified novels and books

Simplified texts are available for adults in seven levels, from beginner to advanced.  Many also contain an audio version of the text on CD.  These are located in the literacy section at the Gosford branch, and are marked with The Reading Hotspot logo.

ESL meet and greet

The ESL meet and greet conversation group meets at Gosford Library once a fortnight on a Tuesday.  Come and practice general English conversation in a relaxed setting in the library.

This is not a formal class, but a chance to practice conversation.  Light refreshments provided.
