Branch History
Erina Library was purpose built and opened in November of 2003 as a part of the expanded Erina Fair shopping complex. The library is a part of the Erina Centre, a Gosford City Council initiative which includes Erina Library, Council Customer Services, the Erina Youth Centre, meeting spaces, an exhibition space and the Erina Room.
Parking
Being a part of Erina Fair means that there are extensive parking areas all around the library, including parking for seniors, Parents with Prams and disabled parking spaces.
Disabled access
Erina Library, and Erina Fair itself, is straightforward to use with its access, seniors and parents with prams parking all around the centre. There are also parent’s rooms, disabled toilets and elevators to make using the centre easier for all
Erina Library itself houses a range of assistive technology and collections. We have Zoom Text, a screen magnifier and reader, a CCTV image and text enlarger and a computer keyboard with large keys and a trackball mouse for word processing and Internet use.
There is also a collection of large print and audio books, and a luxo lamp with magnifier to assist in reading the book blurbs. For the hearing impaired, Erina Library has a hearing loop installed at the front loans counter.
Special collections
Erina Library has a collection of Coffee Table books for use in the library. These large, colourful and fascinating titles cover a range of topics from great architecture, to scenic railway journeys, to photography, to atlases and much, much more.
This collection is aimed at people who just want to come in, sit down and relax in the library away from the bustle of the shops upstairs.
