Peninsula Recreation Precinct Masterplan
Precinct Playground
- To include a junior and senior play area incorporating unique, challenging and innovative playground equipment and will meet Australian Standards.
- Shade Structures over playground.
- Lighting
Café
- The Café (adjacent to precinct playground) would be owned by Council but leased to a private operator.
- Will include external public amenity facilities and landscaped outdoor seating areas
Ancillary recreational facilities
- Fitness equipment for all ages and abilities.
- Park furniture including electric BBQ's, picnic seats, tables, picnic shelters, bollards, bike racks.
- Interpretive and cultural elements
- New pathways/cycleways with lighting
- Tree planting (including tree guards) for shade provision
Tennis Courts
- Renovation of court 5 for multipurpose usage
- Renovations to clubhouse to increase usability including an area for commercial lease, small playground, park furniture, soft landscaping and fencing.
Umina Clubhouse
- Internal renovation to encourage long term commercial tenancy and an additional community hiring facility (upgrade to flooring, toilet and kitchen facilities, additional entry point, and secure entryways)
- External painting
- Renovation of ground floor amenities
Sports Ovals
- Avenue planting around footpaths
- Underground powerlines
- Footpath lighting
- Upgraded car parking
- Installation of park furniture
Umina Skate Park and BMX track
- Improvements to landscaping to increase visibility and linkages with playground facility
- Upgrades to starting/marshalling area of BMX track
EEC & Dune Regeneration
- Bush regeneration to protect the environment through a biodiversity management plan, planting of indigenous species, weeding, plant propagules dune stabilisation and fencing.
