Safety measures in place along Woy Woy Road

Gosford City Council is asking road users to please adhere to all signage, safety barriers and the posted speed limit while travelling in the re-opened lane on Woy Woy Road. The lane is open 24 hours a day to cars and motorcycles travelling in a downhill direction only.
The successful reopening of one lane yesterday has provided assistance in improving traffic build-up on the entire Gosford City traffic network, according to Council's Director of City Services, Stephen Glen.
"Yesterday's opening of the lane has relieved traffic congestion across the whole network," said Mr. Glen.
"We would like to remind road users that only cars and motorcycles are allowed on the lane that travels through the barriered site between Horsfield Road and Woy Woy Creek Bridge," he said.
"Pedestrians, cyclists, trucks or buses are presently not allowed access at this section of Woy Woy Road.
"Residents who would normally travel up Woy Woy Road to access other areas are advised to continue to use alternate routes and we ask that residents plan their journey and allow for extra time.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank the community for their continued patience."
Council will continue to keep residents informed of any updates through the media and Council's website.
