Keeping it local is the theme for this year's Local Government Week which will see the Gosford City local government area (LGA) come alive with community events and
activities.
Celebrated from Monday 3 to Sunday 9 August, Council will be highlighting all the wonderful things that the LGA has to offer.
From behind-the-scenes tours of the Peninsula Leisure Centre (PLC), to Living Library exhibitions; where real life people tell real life stories, you will be able to learn all about facilities and services operated by Gosford City Council.
There will even be a Dog and Cats Day Out; where you can get your cat or dog microchipped for $10; lifetime register your cat or dog and obtain information on pet care, off leash areas and responsible pet ownership.
The theme; Keeping it local, encourages people to appreciate the differences in our community and the locations that set them apart from each other.
Mayor of Gosford City, Clr Chris Holstein says that Local Government Week is a great opportunity for everyone to see how Council is integrated in the community.
"Love them or hate them, Councils exist for the benefit of the ratepayers. This week will give you an idea about how Gosford City Council provides a vital link in the operation of our local community.
"I encourage everyone to step out and take a look around", said Clr Holstein.
