Gosford is where it's cooking

Gosford City Council would like to extend its congratulations to local resident Julie Goodwin on winning the title of becoming Australia's first Master Chef.

Home cook and mother of three Mrs Goodwin was one of twenty finalists, selected from a field of over 7500 people who auditioned to take part in the television show competition.

Upon winning the competition, Mrs Goodwin receives $100,000 and a cookbook deal. Her plans to open her own restaurant serving 'good, unpretentious food' has been met with an enthusiastic response from the people of Gosford City.

Mayor of Gosford City, Councillor Chris Holstein has praised Mrs Goodwin's efforts and encourages her desire to open a locally owned and operated restaurant.

"Gosford City is undergoing a major transformation", said Clr Holstein, "we are revitalising our CBD as a major regional hub and the addition of a restaurant run by Australia's first master chef would be a major drawcard for people from all over the country".

"On behalf of Gosford City Council, I would like to congratulate Mrs. Goodwin on her fantastic achievement and look forward to the possibility of a nationally recognised establishment that will add value to the entire Gosford community", said Clr Holstein.
