'Have your say' days - Community input sought by Gosford Challenge Team
The Gosford Challenge is well and truly under way. The Gosford Challenge Team which now includes architects and urban planners, The Cox Group, is collecting and collating information, talking to major stakeholders, getting to know every corner and laneway of Gosford, studying traffic flows, parking issues, employment opportunities and the like.
However we also want to hear from the people who live here, to hear the issues and understand the concerns and priorities of the community. For this reason, a round of 'Have your say' days will be held on 9, 10 and 11 July 2009 at the venues listed below.
Members of the Gosford Challenge Team who represent a range of disciplines involved in the wider planning process will be on hand. Attendees will be invited to provide input to topics in a static display, so that their views can feed into design considerations to inform the preparation of the Gosford masterplan.
There will be the opportunity for one-on-one conversations with the team, which is subject to demand on the day.
Interested residents are encouraged to make the time to have their voices heard. “Please come along and have your say,” asks Ian Connolly, from Cox.
“A vast array of material has already been collected by Council and others over many years including Vision 2025, but there is no substitute for first-hand accounts of people who experience everything that is good and bad about Gosford on a daily basis”, added Mr Connolly.
Gosford City Council’s Director of City Centre Development, Colleen Worthy- Jennings, backs him up, “As I keep saying, nothing more important will happen in our lifetime to the way our city looks and works, than The Gosford Challenge.”
She adds, “Participation is open to everyone whether at the individual, enterprise or organisation level. If you care about the future of Gosford, please come along to one of these events.”
