2009年07月31日 14時50分
Gosford City Council will clean water mains in the Gosford CBD this Saturday night as part of its continuing program, Water Quality 2010, to help safeguard against discoloured water.
Water mains will be cleaned in the area bounded by Mann Street, Faunce Street, Henry Parry Drive and Erina Street East between 9pm and 5am to minimise community inconvenience.
Water supply will not be interrupted, however Council advises that short-term discoloured water may occur in surrounding areas as a result of the works. Residents are reminded to check water quality before using taps inside their property on Sunday morning. Should discoloured water occur, residents are advised to call Council on 4325 8222.
Regular updates regarding current and upcoming works are available in the Drinking Water Quality section of Council's website: www.gosford.nsw.gov.au.
Water Quality 2010 is designed to protect, manage and maintain the quality of the region's drinking water supply. It incorporates a suite of activities under a 5-point plan including capital works, maintenance activities, monitoring and analysis programs, and changes to system management and operation.
Water Quality 2010 is Gosford City Council's multi-million dollar drinking water quality management program,
assisted by a $4.5 million contribution from the Australian Government's Water for the Future - Water Smart Australia program.
