A Greek experience
11-06-2009 12:00 AM
A Greek-themed film night, promoting harmony and diversity, will be held on Friday 19 June, at The Hub (Erina Youth Centre) from 6.30pm.
This month's Film Global audience will enjoy The Hub's new multi-tier theatre for the screening of the film, El Greco.
Set in the 16th century, El Greco (The Greek) is a classic tale of a man's quest for freedom, love and his determination to overcome barbarity and ignorance. The story ranges from the courts of Crete and Venice to Toledo in Spain.
Hosted by Gosford City Council and the Central Coast Multicultural Family Support Project, from Northern Settlement Services Ltd, the event is the fourth in a series of film nights at The Hub that celebrates a different culture each month in 2009.
Previous film nights have showcased Mexican, Australian, Italian, Indian, Turkish, Chilean, Chinese, South American, African, Filipino, French, and Iranian-Persian cultures, and saw an overwhelming response, proving to be a fun event for all involved.
The event is drug and alcohol-free, and finger food will be provided. Tickets are available for $2 from Gosford City Council's Customer Service Desk at Erina Fair, located next to Erina Library.
