Council enhances customer service capabilities

Gosford City Council has enhanced its customer service capabilities, with customers now able to report emergency situations to Council 24 hours per day, seven days per week via the Council Customer Service Centre number on 4325 8222.

Council's call centre is contactable between the hours of 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. Customers needing to report emergency situations to Council outside of these hours have previously been directed to a 1800 number, at which point alternate contact numbers were provided depending on the nature of the enquiry.

Council has streamlined this process, offering a more direct and simplified procedure to customers wishing to report emergency situations to Council after hours. Upon calling the Customer Service Centre phone number after hours, customers will now be guided by a series of clear prompts and transferred to the appropriate officer or organisation through the touch of a button.

The new system utilises the latest technology and aims to reduce customer enquiry wait times, avoid caller confusion and offer best practice customer service standards to Gosford City Council customers.

Once the new system is operational, the 1800 number diversions will be removed and a message will be posted on this number for a three month period informing customers to contact 4325 8222.

Changes will come into affect from Wednesday 3 June 2009 at 4pm.
