The battle of all battles is here with the grand final of the 2009 Battle of the Bands taking place on Friday 13 November 2009 at The Hub, Erina Fair.
Kicking off at 6.30pm, the top four bands; Spread the Ashes, Few & Far Between, Sky Squadron and Silhouette Effect will battle it out with carefully constructed set lists to win their share in $10,000 worth of prizes.
After enduring ten heats held every month since February this year, the bands are in the running to win prizes sponsored by The Hub, Gosford City Council Youth Services, Macron Music and Better Futures.
Coordinator of The Hub, Steve Knee, says the venue is all set to go for the grand final with thousands of dollars worth of impressive new sound equipment waiting to be tested by the bands.
"The Hub was already marked as the best youth entertainment venue in Australia and we've now taken it to another level of professionalism just in time for this annual event. It's going to be a great night", said Mr. Knee.
Special guest judges include previous Battle of the Bands winner and Macron Music representative Anthony Ursino; singer songwriter and founder of Musicians Making a Difference (MMAD) Dominic Brook and Caravan Records Manager Rebecca Gilmour. They will all use their industry experience to select the overall competition winner.
Caravan Records will also select one competing band as the winner of a recording package which can go towards a band's first EP, helping them get a jump start in the industry.
There will also be a door prize on the night; with Macron Music giving away a brand new drum kit to one lucky ticket holder.
The grand final of the 2009 Battle of the Bands will commence at 6.30pm at The Hub Youth Entertainment Venue, Erina Fair on Friday November 13. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door.
