Recycling Week 2009

28-10-2009 01:00 AM

To celebrate National Recycling Week 2009, Gosford City Council is coordinating two Op Shops Tours in the Woy Woy, Kincumber, Greenpoint and Gosford areas.

On Thursday 12 November from 9.30am - 2pm, an Op Shops bus tour will travel in and around Woy Woy, Kincumber and Greenpoint, with morning tea and lunch provided.

On Saturday 14 November from 9.30am - 1.30pm, Council will conduct a walking tour of Op Shops in Gosford, with morning tea provided.

Gosford City Council's Environmental Education Officer, Maree Whelan said the tours provide an opportunity to discover treasures, find some great bargains and do something to help the environment.

"The Op Shops Tours are an innovative way for people to think about recycling and a great opportunity to discover hidden treasures at bargain prices", said Ms. Whelan.

"There will be great giveaways and a professional stylist will be present to give fashion advice, help source the treasures and advise participants on what works for them".

"The aim of the tours is to have fun learning about pre-loved clothing and find out simple ways we can all help our environment.  Remember one person's trash is another person's treasure!"

Pickup and drop off for both tours is from Gosford City Council Administration Building, 49 Mann St, Gosford.

Bookings are essential as numbers are limited. Bookings can be made by contacting Emma Willis on 4325 8222.  Please RSVP no later than Friday 6 November 2009.
