Water main cleaning in Watt Street Gosford

28. 10. 2009 12:15

Gosford City Council will clean the water main along Watt Street, Gosford this Thursday night as part of its drinking water quality management program, Water Quality 2010.

Water supply to properties on Watt Street, between Faunce and Erina Street, will be interrupted between 4pm Thursday 29 October and 6am Friday 30 October. Affected residents have been notified in writing and are reminded to keep all taps closed during the period of interruption. In addition, toilets, washing machines, dish washers and hot water systems should not be used at this time.

Once supply is restored, residents should run the tap nearest the water meter until water becomes clear. This step is particularly important before using any hot water services, washing machines, dishwashers or other water using devices.

Drinking water quality may be impacted for approximately 24 hours after swabbing takes place in the area bounded by Mann Street, Faunce Street, William Street and Henry Parry Drive. Residents in this area are reminded to check water quality from the tap nearest the water meter before using water during this time. Council crews will be on-site to monitor water quality and address any issues promptly should they occur.

Council is keen to hear from residents who experience discoloured water as community feedback helps us identify and resolve drinking water quality problems. Residents are encouraged to report drinking water quality issues to Council on 4325 8222.

Residents are also encouraged to contact Council if they note an improvement in drinking water quality.

Council apologises for any inconvenience. The community's understanding and cooperation is appreciated while this important work is undertaken.
