Facelift for Kincumber reserve
21-10-2006 12:00 AM
A major facelift of the foreshore reserve at the end of Carrak Road, Kincumber, begins this week.
The presently bare reserve will be transformed into an attractive picnic and passive recreation site with a large grassed area, picnic settings and a cycleway.
Work includes sealing the minor access road from the end of Carrak Road to the reserve and adding a five space car park with disability parking.
The foreshore will also be stabilised and planted with low-growing native vegetation that still allows water access.
The foreshore reserve, including the boat ramp and jetty, will be closed for part of the expected six week construction period.
Enquiries regarding the upgrade can be directed to Kylie Yeend, Council's Coordinator Parks and Waterways, on 4304 4322.
