SMS Bounceback Ground Condition Enquiry Service
Use your mobile phone to check oval conditions
Mobile phones and SMS messages are being used to alert sporting groups when Gosford City Council ovals are closed due to wet weather, ground hardness, maintenance or other factors.
The service works by the enquirer sending an SMS containing the unique code of the sportsground they are to use for training or competition and immediately receiving a response stating if the grounds are open or closed.
Sending an SMS to BounceBack SMS will cost a flat fee of 55 cents, and the information will be updated by Council staff by 1pm Monday to Friday. Sports Associations have their own systems in place to provide information over the weekend.
The service is a quick and easy way of communicating the status of Council sportsgrounds to sporting associations, sporting clubs, schools and individuals.
How the system works
The ground condition update system works like this:
- View the list of oval codes (PDF File, 7.8kb).
- SMS the appropriate oval code to 199BBSMS (19922767)
Important
Gosford City Council will update the sportsground information at 1pm each weekday.
Sports Associations have their own systems in place to provide information over the weekend.
