Programs for Seniors
Information about Council's Road Safety Programs for Seniors.
Senior Drivers
For car drivers, annual medical reviews are required from 75 years of age and practical driving tests from the age of 85 years will now be conducted every 2 years (eg. 85, 87, 89) instead of every year. This is to ensure that older drivers are physically and mentally fit and are able to continue driving competently and safely.
A Guide for Older Drivers is a useful education resource for drivers in this age group. The Guide contains a self-assessment quiz and advice about the Aged Driving Test. The Guide is available from your local RTA Motor Registry. To find your nearest Motor Registry please visit http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=motorregistries.form.
The Guide can also be downloaded from the RTA website http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downloads/olderdriverguide_dl1.html
