Open Coast and Broken Bay Beaches Coastal Processes and Hazards Re-Assessment

Closing Date: 15-12-2009 01:00 PM
Information: Gosford Local Government Area is located on the NSW Central coast approximately 50 km North of Sydney. Council has approximately 14 kilometres of coastal beaches extending from Patonga in the south to Forresters Beach in the north. This project involves the review, update and amalgamation of two existing Coastal Management Plans, including assessment of coastal processes and identification of Hazard Lines (the Hazard Lines) covering Open Coast and Broken Bay Beaches. This review will re-assess coastal hazards, and re-determine existing Hazard Lines in line with NSW Sea Level Rise Policy to incorporate sea level rise planning benchmarks and climate change impacts. The revised plans will identify upgraded threat mitigation and/or minimisation measures through erosion and inundation hazard assessment and set suitable adaptation measures for the minimisation of the threat to public infrastructure, public land, private property and buildings and/or propose alternative measures to mitigate the threat.
