Kate Miller-Heidke has spent the last year spreading her wings into new creative fields - like composing and starring in the Helpmann-Award winning opera The Rabbits, and filming her television acting debut in the musical mini-series The Divorce. Now she is keen to get back on the road to perform material of her own.
Amongst all this activity Kate has been busy working on material for a new album, and plans to share some of those songs with her fans.
Audiences can also expect to experience a piece from her acclaimed musical The Rabbits, a new cover or two, plus songs from her most recent record O Vertigo! - hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine as a 'career-best' album - as well as earlier material from across her varied career.
The Sunshine Coast’s newest and brightest star, AYLA, will be the opening act.
Over the last two years, this young singer-songwriter has been steadily gaining attention on the Australian music scene for her mature and compelling writing style.
Her debut single “Wish I Was” was released in early 2014, which immediately gained attention with Australian radio, coming in at #15 on triple j’s 'most played' list. Continuing to grow from strength to strength, AYLA released her debut EP in late 2015, with all three singles receiving high rotation on triple j.
Straight off the back of a much-loved ‘Like A Version’ of Hunters & Collectors’ ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’, and an impressive performances at 2015’s Woodford Folk Festival, AYLA is set to make 2016 her biggest year yet.
One show only, 8pm Friday 19 February 2016. Book tickets via the 'Book Tickets' link, or phone 4323 3233.
