Fast-talking con artist 'Professor' Harold Hill likes a challenge, and when other salesmen on a train travelling west tell him Iowa is the biggest test of all sales skills, he detrains at River City and begins to win over the locals with his charismatic appeal.

Although Marian the librarian doesn't buy his line, Harold convinces many of his potential customers that the billiard parlour's new pool table could mean 'trouble in River City' and lead to the corruption of the town's youth.

His grand scheme to protect the morals of the young ones is to form a children's band.

Hill then cons the parents into buying instruments and expensive uniforms, and promises he will teach the children to play.

His intention, of course, is to abscond from River City with their money in his pocket!

The delightful musical score of classic hit songs includes Til There Was You, Ya Got Trouble, Gary Indiana and Seventy-Six Trombones.

Director Chip Gracia has assembled a talented cast of 100 local performers who will present this extraordinary, warm-hearted, funny and captivating show that will appeal to all ages.
