Choreographed by Artistic Director Michael Pappalardo, William Shakespeare's classic story explores the chance meeting of two young lovers, the son and daughter of two rival families, who quickly develop a forbidden love that could cost them their lives.
Known for their unique choreography and high quality artists, Melbourne City Ballet has quickly grown on the Australian arts scene under the direction of Michael Pappalardo who founded the company in 2013. With a cast of 14 artists, Melbourne City Ballet's Romeo & Juliet will feature Principal Artists, Yuiko Masakawa and Brendan Bradshaw, in the titled roles. Romeo and Juliet is Melbourne City Ballet's most raw production within their repertoire, taking the audience on a journey to the city of Verona and into the lives of the two star-crossed lovers.
