Mardi-Mangrove Link

Linking Wyong River to Mangrove Creek Dam

The Mardi-Mangrove Link is a key part of the long-term water management strategy outlined in WaterPlan 2050.

A joint initiative of Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils, the $80 million project will help to boost total dam storages by enabling more water to be extracted from Wyong River and Ourimbah Creek during medium to high flows, and transferring excess water not needed to meet daily demand for town water to Mangrove Creek Dam, via Mardi Dam.

Progress todate

The pipeline route through Yarramalong Valley is being assessed according to a range of issues and criteria such as environmental, engineering, social and economic factors.

Three potential routes have been examined with the pipeline running close to the main road, through private properties and a hybrid of these two.
