Washing Machine Rebate
Save Our Water......with a water efficient washing machine
On average, around 20% of total household water usage occurs in the laundry. Some washing machines can use as much as 176 litres of water per wash compared to the new models which can use as little as 49 litres.
A water efficient washing machine rated 4 stars and above can save a family around 21,000 litres of water every year and means an average household water bill could be reduced by around $25.
Rebates for washing machines:
Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils have recently made changes to the Washing Machine rebate program.
The current program run by Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils will be replaced by a program run by the NSW Government on 1 October 2008.
This means that residents who buy a washing machine rated four stars and above before 1 October 2008 can apply for a Council rebate. They have until 31 December 2008 to apply for this rebate.
Residents who buy a washing machine rated 4.5 stars and above after 1 October 2008 can apply for a NSW Government rebate.
